A tragic accident on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Rajasthan’s Dausa district on Thursday left around 45 people injured when a private bus collided with two trucks that had previously crashed. The bus, carrying devotees from Ujjain to Delhi, slammed into the trucks due to dense fog, authorities reported.
According to Nangal-Rajawatan DSP Charul Gupta, the accident occurred near Lahdi Ka Bas along the expressway. The collision resulted in significant damage to the front of the bus. The dense fog severely reduced visibility, contributing to the mishap.
More than 20 of the injured passengers were taken to Dausa District Hospital for treatment, while four were referred to Jaipur for further medical care. Some others also traveled to Noida and Delhi for treatment. The authorities have taken swift action, with additional medical staff and doctors deployed to handle the large number of injured passengers.
The accident highlights the hazardous driving conditions during foggy weather, especially on busy highways.
