Despite a slight delay of about 1 hour from the original arrival time of 12:40 PM, the train successfully completed the journey. WR officials explained that the delay was due to “unavoidable” circumstances, which did not affect the overall performance of the train.
The Vande Bharat sleeper train reached Mumbai Central at around 1:50 PM, and after a brief inspection, it departed back for Ahmedabad at 2:45 PM. This marked the completion of the successful round trip.
What’s Next for Vande Bharat Sleeper Train?
The trial run of the Vande Bharat sleeper train marks an important step toward revolutionizing the Indian railways, with the potential to enhance the travel experience on long-distance routes. Following the successful trials, the train now awaits certification from the Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO), the body responsible for approving all railway equipment in India.
Once approved, the Vande Bharat sleeper train is expected to enter regular service on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route, offering passengers a faster, more comfortable, and modern alternative to existing trains. The government is optimistic about expanding the Vande Bharat network to other major routes across the country, contributing to the ambitious modernization plan of Indian Railways.
