Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan was discharged from Lilavati Hospital after a five-day stay following a stabbing incident at his home last week. The 54-year-old actor left the hospital with his wife, Kareena Kapoor, and returned to their residence in Bandra.
Saif was attacked on Thursday morning when an intruder entered his home and stabbed him multiple times. The actor was rushed to Lilavati Hospital at around 3 a.m. and immediately underwent a five-hour emergency surgery. On Sunday, they apprehended Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, a 30-year-old man who had reportedly changed his name to Vijay Das. Fakir was taken into custody and remanded for five days. The police investigation revealed that the intruder had planned to burglarize the house, unaware that it belonged to Saif Ali Khan. Fakir reportedly targeted the residence, assuming it was the home of a wealthy individual, not realizing it was the actor’s property.
Authorities have said that they will recreate the crime scene at Saif’s Bandra home with the accused to understand the full extent of the attack. The investigation is ongoing, with police working to clarify the motives behind the violent incident.
