Actor Allu Arjun visited the Metropolitan Criminal Court at Nampally in Hyderabad on Saturday to complete bail formalities in connection with the tragic Sandhya Theatre incident, which led to the death of a woman during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule on December 4, 2024. The actor, who had been granted regular bail by the court on Friday, submitted the required sureties to finalize the process.
Surrounded by police and media, Allu Arjun was escorted into the court premises. His legal team confirmed that the actor was granted conditional bail on the grounds that he must attend the police station as part of the ongoing investigation. His lawyer, Ashok Reddy, shared that the court did not view the incident as culpable homicide not amounting to murder, which contributed to the decision to grant bail.
The court also directed Allu Arjun to execute a bond of ₹50,000 with two sureties, which he completed as part of the legal procedure. Additionally, a quash petition is still pending before the Telangana High Court, with the next hearing scheduled for January 21, 2025.
The incident occurred when Allu Arjun, while attending the Pushpa 2 premiere, waved to fans from the sunroof of his car, causing a chaotic scene. Tragically, a woman named Revathi lost her life, and her child, Sri Tej, sustained severe injuries.
Sri Tej, who had been on a ventilator for an extended period, has shown signs of recovery, with his father, Bhaskar, expressing gratitude for the support from Allu Arjun and the Telangana government. Allu Arjun’s father, film producer Allu Aravind, also announced a ₹2 crore financial aid to the victim’s family.
