A Bengaluru techie has sparked a heated debate online after sharing his negative experience of moving to Ahmedabad, calling the city a “big mistake.” In a candid post on X (formerly Twitter), the techie expressed his deep regret about leaving Bengaluru, describing Ahmedabad as a “barren land without like-minded people” and claiming that life in Bengaluru was “more alive.”
The techie explained that his decision to relocate to Ahmedabad was rushed, as he packed up his life in Bengaluru within just 15 days. However, he soon realized his mistake, referring to his new life in Ahmedabad as “hell.” He lamented the lack of meaning in promises, the stress of daily affairs, and the absence of reliability in relationships, even though he has a large family in the city.
His harsh review drew mixed reactions online. Some users agreed with his sentiments, particularly criticizing the city’s development and atmosphere. One user compared Ahmedabad’s heat to the Kutchh desert, saying it was unbearable, while another agreed with the techie’s description of the city being full of “show-offs” with families running exploitative businesses.
However, others defended Ahmedabad, suggesting that the techie simply couldn’t adjust to the city’s lifestyle. One user pointed out that his dissatisfaction might stem from personal difficulties in settling in rather than inherent flaws in the city itself.
Interestingly, the debate also saw responses from Ahmedabad residents, with one techie who moved to Bengaluru sharing a contrasting opinion. He pointed out Bengaluru’s notorious traffic problems, poor public transport, and frequent power outages, which he claimed were less of an issue in Ahmedabad.
The debate highlights the contrasting perspectives on life in these two major cities, with each having its unique challenges and advantages.
