Mohammed Wajid, a 28-year-old Indian student from Hyderabad, tragically died in a road accident on January 28 in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. Wajid, who was studying in the US, failed to stop at a posted stop sign at an intersection and collided with a truck hauling grain. The impact caused the truck’s load to split in half.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, Wajid was declared dead at the hospital after the crash. The truck driver survived the accident, though the collision also sparked a fire in nearby fields, which was later put out by firefighters.
Wajid was an active leader in the Youth Congress in Khairatabad Division and a member of the NRI Minority Congress Committee in the United States. Telangana Congress Secretary Mohammed Shahabuddin expressed his condolences on social media, remembering Wajid’s dedication and energy in his work with the organization. Shahabuddin shared a heartfelt message, saying, “Today is a sad day for me and our entire Congress family. We’ve lost a dear friend and colleague.”
Shahabuddin also shared Wajid’s photo with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, adding, “Rest in peace, dear Wajid. Your memory will live on in our hearts.”
