MakeMyTrip has unveiled a new part-payment feature for international flights, offering travelers the flexibility to confirm bookings with an upfront payment of just 10–40% of the total fare. The exact upfront payment percentage will depend on factors such as the airline, travel route, and advance purchase timing.
The remaining balance can be settled either before the departure date or within 45 days of booking, with no additional charges.
This industry-first option is designed to ease the burden of paying the full ticket price upfront, particularly benefiting larger families and groups who may find it difficult to pay in one go. MakeMyTrip’s new feature also allows travelers to modify their confirmed bookings once the full payment is made, as per the fare rules.
Saujanya Shrivastava, Chief Operating Officer – Flights, Holidays & Gulf at MakeMyTrip, expressed, “This part-payment feature reflects our dedication to making international travel more accessible and flexible for Indians.”
The feature has already seen a positive response, with solo travelers, couples, and families opting for part-payment options on both long-haul and short-haul international flights.
