Rajasthan: On May 22, 2025, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated, laid the foundation stone, and dedicated to the nation a series of transformative development projects worth ₹26,000 crore in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The event marked a major step forward in the Government of India’s ongoing mission to foster holistic national development—combining infrastructure growth with a strong national defense and cultural heritage preservation.
1. Empowering India through Infrastructure
In his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized the scale and pace of infrastructure development over the past 11 years. Under his leadership, India is now investing six times more in infrastructure than before, with visible outcomes across the country.
Railways: The Backbone of Development
A major focus was placed on the modernization of India’s railway network:
Over 34,000 kilometers of new railway tracks have been laid.
Hundreds of road overbridges and underpasses have been constructed.
All unmanned level crossings on broad gauge lines have been eliminated.
The Prime Minister inaugurated 103 redeveloped Amrit Bharat Stations across 86 districts in 18 states and UTs, aimed at enhancing passenger comfort while reflecting regional architecture and culture.
Examples include Mandalgarh Station in Rajasthan, inspired by Rajput tradition, and Gujarat’s Dakor Station, reflecting the essence of Ranchhodrai ji.
Projects like the Churu-Sadulpur line electrification and dedicated freight corridors signify enhanced safety, efficiency, and reduced transit times.
India’s bullet train project was also highlighted as a symbol of the nation’s leap into futuristic transport.
Roadways and Connectivity
PM Modi laid the foundation for seven road projects worth ₹4,850 crore, including vehicle underpasses and national highway upgrades.
The newly inaugurated and planned road networks will extend up to the Indo-Pak border, bolstering both civilian mobility and defense logistics.
Rajasthan alone has seen an investment of nearly ₹70,000 crore in road infrastructure over 11 years, with an additional ₹10,000 crore planned for railway development this year.
Power and Renewable Energy
Solar projects in Bikaner and Nawa were inaugurated along with key transmission systems to evacuate clean energy across regions.
The PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana has already benefited over 40,000 people in Rajasthan by eliminating their electricity bills and generating household income through solar energy.
PowerGrid projects in Sirohi, Mewar, Neemuch, and Bikaner Complex were also dedicated to the nation, advancing India’s push towards green and sustainable power.
2. Integrated Development: Health, Water, and Education
Water Projects
Projects include the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal Link, addressing water scarcity and boosting agriculture in Rajasthan’s arid regions.
PM laid the foundation for rural water supply and fluorosis mitigation projects in Jhunjhunu and urban water supply schemes in Pali under AMRUT 2.0.
Health Infrastructure
New nursing colleges in Rajsamand, Pratapgarh, Bhilwara, and Dholpur were inaugurated to strengthen Rajasthan’s healthcare workforce and medical education infrastructure.
3. Reviving Cultural Identity Through Modern Infrastructure
The Prime Minister underscored that modernized stations and infrastructure not only serve functional needs but also reflect India’s rich heritage:
Amrit Bharat Stations feature local art and architecture—Madhubani art in Bihar, Dravidian design in Tamil Nadu, and Kakatiya dynasty elements in Telangana.
These stations are envisioned as hubs of tourism and economic activity, stimulating local employment and enterprise.
4. Rajasthan as an Industrial Powerhouse
PM Modi lauded the Bikaneri Bhujia and Rasgulla industry for gaining global recognition.
Rajasthan’s refinery project, nearing completion, is expected to elevate the state’s stature in petroleum-based industries.
Major connectivity corridors such as the Amritsar-Jamnagar Economic Corridor and Delhi-Mumbai Expressway are strengthening the state’s industrial backbone.
5. National Security and Operation Sindoor
A significant portion of the Prime Minister’s address was dedicated to national security, especially in the wake of the April 22 terrorist attack in Pahalgam. PM Modi revealed:
India responded within 22 minutes, destroying nine terrorist bases in a swift and strategic retaliation named Operation Sindoor.
This operation reinforced three key principles:
Every terrorist attack will be met with decisive Indian retaliation—terms, method, and timing determined solely by India.
India will not be deterred by nuclear threats.
There will be no distinction between terrorists and the governments that support them.
He asserted that Pakistan’s use of terrorism has failed to weaken India and instead has led to its own diplomatic and economic isolation. He warned that India will not allow its water to flow into Pakistan and that trade and talks will only proceed concerning Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
PM Modi stated unequivocally: “This is not revenge; this is justice. This is the new India—decisive, bold, and resolute.”
6. A Vision for a Developed India
Closing his address, the Prime Minister declared that both security and prosperity are essential for a Viksit Bharat (Developed India). The balanced development across sectors—roads, rail, electricity, health, and defense—was held up as a model for national progress.
PM Modi’s rally from the historic land of valor, Bikaner, sent a strong message: India is building a future where tradition and modernity, development and security, coexist seamlessly, ensuring growth for every region and opportunity for every citizen.
