11,100 Jan Aushadhi Kendras Identified as Outdoor Cleaning Sites under Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) 5.0

Breaking News

As part of the Special Campaign for Disposal of Pending Matters (SCDPM) 5.0, the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP) identified 11,100 Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Kendras across India as Outdoor Cleaning Sites during the preparatory phase ending September 30, 2025. The Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Bureau of India (PMBI) leads the initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana (PMBJP), promoting cleanliness and citizen-centric governance.

Objective and Implementation

The campaign focuses on Swachhata (cleanliness), targeting clearance of pending matters such as MP and PMO references, State Government communications, Parliamentary Assurances, Inter-Ministerial references, and Public Grievances. PMBI plans a major cleanliness drive covering 11,000 Jan Aushadhi Kendras, aligned with guidelines from the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG).

E-Waste Disposal and Space Optimization

Efforts include identifying and disposing of e-waste and scrap materials, with an expected revenue generation of around ₹16 lakh. Additionally, idle office spaces are being converted into productive areas like canteens, recreation zones, and crèches. Hindustan Antibiotics Limited (HAL) has planned to reclaim 15,000 sq. ft. of office space as part of SCDPM 5.0 to improve workspace efficiency and employee welfare.

Best Practices and Governance

Across its organizations, the Department has compiled 12 Best Practices focused on Ease of Doing Business, Citizen-Centric Governance, and environmentally sustainable initiatives. These include digitization, efficient space management, waste-to-wealth strategies, and eco-friendly practices, reflecting a comprehensive approach to sustainable and effective administration.

Conclusion

The SCDPM 5.0 campaign, led by PMBI under PMBJP, exemplifies India’s commitment to clean, efficient governance and sustainability by combining targeted disposal of pending matters, eco-conscious waste management, and workspace optimization across thousands of Jan Aushadhi Kendras nationwide.
