The 23rd edition of Bharat Telecom 2025, a global buyer-seller meet organized by the Telecom Equipment and Services Export Promotion Council (TEPC), was inaugurated alongside the India Mobile Congress (IMC) 2025 in New Delhi. The event attracted over 70 delegates from 30+ countries and showcased capabilities of over 60 Indian telecom companies at the Atmanirbhar Bharat Pavilion.

Union Minister of State for Communications, Dr. Chandra Sekhar Pemmasani, inaugurated the event, highlighting India’s evolution into a global hub for telecom design, development, and innovation. He emphasized India’s shift from mere assembly to being recognized for cutting-edge technology creation. This transformation aims to open new markets for service providers and exporters while strengthening the innovation ecosystem.

Dr. Pemmasani pointed to key government initiatives like the National Digital Communications Policy and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme, which propel local manufacturing and export growth. The event encourages collaboration in manufacturing, system integration, software development, and service delivery to drive innovation and expand market access.

Expanding Opportunities in Emerging Telecom Segments

Speakers highlighted India’s expanding telecom opportunities in satellite communications, rural connectivity, and AI-driven applications enhancing governance, agriculture, and education, especially across developing countries. The nation commits to supporting international partnerships and innovation-led growth, positioning itself as a technology and export leader.

Industry Insights and Future Vision

Deputy Director General of DoT, Shri A.K. Jain, described India’s telecom sector’s transformation from assembly-centric to a knowledge-driven hub focused on exports and design. TEPC Vice Chairman Shri Sanjeev Kumar and Past Chairman Shri Sanjeev Aggarwal underscored how policy measures and transparent partnerships foster a thriving ecosystem, facilitating business growth and integration in the global economy.
