BOLLYWOOD: Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has invited Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to watch her upcoming film, Emergency, set to release on January 17, 2025. The film portrays the 1975 Emergency period under former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, with Ranaut playing the titular role.

In a recent interview, Ranaut shared her interaction with Priyanka Gandhi:

“I met Mrs. Priyanka Gandhi in Parliament, and she complimented me on my work and my hair. I mentioned my film Emergency and suggested she watch it. She responded with, ‘Okay, maybe.’ I believe if they have a little bit of acceptance for what has been, they will appreciate the film.”

Emergency has faced delays and controversies, including criticism from Sikh organizations alleging misrepresentation. Despite these challenges, Ranaut remains optimistic about the film’s reception.

The film also stars Anupam Kher, Satish Kaushik, Shreyas Talpade, Mahima Chaudhary, and Milind Soman. Co-produced by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, Emergency aims to offer a nuanced portrayal of a pivotal moment in Indian history.
