Scottish police are working alongside Hungarian authorities in the search for two missing sisters, Eliza and Henrietta Huszti, who were last seen in Aberdeen on January 7. The sisters, both 32, disappeared in the early hours of Tuesday after leaving their home around 2:12 am. They were spotted on Market Street before crossing the Victoria Bridge toward the Torry area.
The pair, part of a set of triplets, are originally from Hungary and were last seen heading along a footpath near the River Dee, heading towards the Aberdeen Boat Club. Authorities have launched an extensive search effort, including the use of police dogs, a marine unit, and specialist search teams, to locate the sisters.
Eliza is known to work at Costa Coffee in the Bon Accord shopping center, and police are urging businesses in the area to check their CCTV footage from the early morning hours of January 7. They are also asking anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. Chief Inspector Darren Bruce of Police Scotland emphasized that searches are focused around the Torry side of Victoria Bridge, an area with numerous commercial and industrial units.
The investigation is being supported by Hungarian police, who are liaising with the sister’s family. Local authorities are also speaking with people who may have known Eliza and Henrietta to gather more information.
Police Scotland is urging anyone with relevant information to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 0735 from January 7. As of now, Costa Coffee has not issued a statement regarding the case.
The sisters are described as white, with slim builds and long brown hair. Their sudden disappearance has left the community and family members deeply concerned.
