Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Working President KT Rama Rao (KTR) and six other prominent party leaders, including Harish Rao and RS Praveen Kumar, have reportedly been placed under house arrest, according to ANI sources on Tuesday. This development follows an ongoing investigation by the state Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) into alleged financial irregularities related to the Formula E car race.

KTR, who is the son of former Telangana Chief Minister Chandrashekar Rao, has been under scrutiny for the alleged unauthorized payments made during the organization of the Formula E event. He has denied all allegations, calling the charges “frivolous” and accusing the authorities of abusing the legal process. KTR described his questioning by the ACB, which lasted for seven hours, as repetitive, with the investigators asking the same questions repeatedly without presenting any substantial evidence to back their claims.

Speaking to ANI, KTR expressed his frustration, stating, “They have no case. It’s a frivolous case, and I told them it’s an abuse of the law. They kept asking the same questions over and over again, but they have no case.”

KTR has also criticized the state Congress government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, alleging that the investigation is politically motivated. He accused the CM of taking “sadistic pleasure” in targeting him personally and suggested that the charges are part of an effort to suppress dissent against the government. “This is basically to suppress any voice questioning this government,” KTR added.

The BRS leader also emphasized that his efforts during his tenure as a minister were aimed at putting Hyderabad and Telangana on the world map. He vowed to fight the charges legally and expressed confidence that the truth would prevail.
