Actor Sanjay Dutt visited Lilavati Hospital on Monday to inquire about the health of his colleague, Saif Ali Khan, who has been recovering from injuries sustained during a violent attack at his Bandra residence. The visit comes a few days after Saif was stabbed by an intruder, sparking widespread concern among fans and the Bollywood community.
The Attack and Saif Ali Khan’s Condition
The intense attention on Saif Ali Khan’s health followed his attack by an intruder, later identified as Mohd Shariful Islam Shehzad, who attempted to rob the actor’s home on the night of January 16. In the course of the confrontation, Saif sustained serious stab wounds to his thoracic spine while trying to stop the intruder from attacking his housemaid.
Doctors rushed Saif to Lilavati Hospital, where they performed a successful surgery to remove a 2.5-inch-long blade embedded in his back. According to Dr. Nitin Dange, the hospital’s spokesperson, Saif remains under observation but is now out of danger. “He will be monitored for another day or two,” Dr. Dange said, adding that a decision regarding his discharge would be made soon.

Although Saif’s injuries were severe, his condition has shown significant improvement. Medical staff continue to monitor his progress closely after moving him out of the ICU and into a regular hospital room.

Meanwhile, the police apprehended the assailant, Shehzad, while he was attempting to flee to his native village in Bangladesh. Authorities arrested him in the Hiranandani Estate area of Thane as he tried to escape the scene. Shehzad reportedly targeted Saif’s home for a theft, but the situation escalated when the actor intervened, resulting in the violent confrontation.
Saif’s fans have flooded social media with messages of support, wishing him a speedy recovery. The attack has raised concerns over security, as the actor, known for his family-oriented lifestyle and successful career, found himself caught in an unexpected and dangerous situation.
