Mount Abu, Rajasthan’s only hill station, recorded the state’s lowest temperature on Wednesday, with a chilly 2.4°C marking the coldest point in the region. The town’s picturesque, frost-covered mornings are reminiscent of a winter fairytale, drawing attention to its brisk weather conditions.
Cold Wave Hits Rajasthan
Cold conditions swept across much of Rajasthan, with Sangaria in Hanumangarh recording a minimum of 5.8°C. Other locations in the plains also reported significant drops in temperature:
- Lunkaransar: 6.8°C
- Sirohi and Fatehpur: 7.3°C each
- Pilani: 7.6°C
- Churu: 7.8°C
- Sikar and Sriganganagar: 8.2°C
- Nagaur: 8.8°C
Jaipur’s Relatively Warmer Morning
In contrast, the state capital Jaipur saw relatively warmer temperatures, with a minimum of 13°C marking a milder morning.
Weather Outlook
According to the Meteorological Department (MeT), the cold wave is expected to persist in several parts of the state, with temperatures remaining low in both the plains and the hilly regions.
