Breaking News

In a tragic incident on Monday morning, a 38-year-old woman lost her life in a hit-and-run accident in Andheri East, Mumbai. The victim, identified as Muskan Maimuddin Sayyed, was returning home after dropping her daughter at school when a speeding dumper struck her scooter near Mahakali Caves around 7:15 am. The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision.

The MIDC police have registered a case against the unidentified dumper driver for negligent driving and causing death. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify the vehicle and apprehend the driver. Muskan’s family was informed of the accident by the police and rushed to Cooper Hospital, where they learned she had succumbed to severe head injuries.

This incident highlights the growing concern over hit-and-run cases in Mumbai. In a similar case earlier this year, an 18-year-old student, Vivek Yadav, died after being struck by a speeding vehicle on the Andheri flyover near Gundavali Metro station. The driver in that case also fled the scene, and police faced challenges in identifying the vehicle due to the absence of CCTV cameras in the vicinity.

The increasing frequency of such incidents underscores the need for stricter traffic regulations and improved surveillance to ensure road safety. Authorities urge drivers to exercise caution and responsibility to prevent such tragedies.
