After a successful run at various film festivals, Boman Irani’s directorial debut The Mehta Boys is set to release on Prime Video on February 7. The film portrays a turbulent yet transformative journey between a father and his son, who are forced to spend 48 hours together under unusual circumstances.
Plot Insights from the The Mehta Boys Trailer
The trailer reveals a strained father-son relationship as Avinash Tiwary’s character, the son, brings his elderly father (played by Boman Irani) to stay with him for the first time. Their time together is marked by minor inconveniences and escalating tensions, from arguing over sleeping arrangements to a heated driving dispute. One notable exchange in the trailer has the son questioning his father’s maturity, only for his girlfriend to retort, “He’s your father, you’re the child.”
Despite the friction, the trailer hints at a more profound, emotional connection that emerges as the father and son spend time together. The trailer concludes with a powerful moment where Boman’s character extends a hesitant handshake to his son, suggesting a potential for reconciliation.
