LUCKNOW: The State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission of Uttar Pradesh has issued a stay order on the construction of actress Sunny Leone’s restaurant-cum-bar, “Chica Loca by Sunny Leone,” in Vibhutikhand, Lucknow. The decision follows a complaint by a resident of Experion Capital in Lucknow, alleging that the developer deviated from the approved site plan and encroached upon areas designated for children and the elderly.
Justice Ashok Kumar, Chairperson of the Commission, expressed particular concern over the allotment of the society’s community center to a commercial establishment. He emphasized that such unauthorized activities could create a permanent nuisance for residents and pose security threats to nearby institutions, including the High Court’s Lucknow bench and the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan.
This legal challenge arises as Sunny Leone continues to expand her restaurant venture. In January 2024, she launched the flagship outlet of “Chica Loca by Sunny Leone” in Noida, in partnership with Singing Bowls Hospitality. The establishment offers a fusion of global cuisines and a gourmet cocktail bar.
