BTS leader Kim Namjoon, also known as RM, has shared a heartfelt and humorous update with his fans on the South Korean platform Weverse, revealing his promotion to Sergeant in the military. RM shared his post on February 1, 2025, and it quickly caught the attention of BTS fans, who were touched by his candid reflections on his military life.
In his message, RM greeted his fans with warmth, saying, “Hello, everyone whom I love relentlessly. Did you spend your Lunar New Year well? Did you have some rice cake soup?” before diving into a playful reflection on his age. Joking about the passage of time, he said, “I have no idea what I’ve been up to, but I’m already 32. As I persistently try to use international age to say that I’m actually 30, the reality hits me that I’m an uncle. He even mentioned how, in the past, people used to subtract five years from their age when they turned 30 in Korea.
The post wasn’t just about humor, though. RM also expressed his growing anticipation for life after the military, hinting at his excitement to reconnect with fans and continue his career as a civilian. He revealed that his discharge date is set for June 10 and eagerly looked forward to sharing more with his fans once he concludes his service.
To accompany the message, RM included a selfie of himself in his military uniform, with a black muffler covering the lower half of his face, giving fans a glimpse of his current life. Despite the military setting, his lighthearted tone and eagerness for civilian life were unmistakable.
