Throuout its history, BIMra has achieved several milestones. In 1964, it became the first technical institution in India to establish a Department of Space Engineering & Rocketry, offering postgraduate programs pace engineering. The institute also pioneered the establishment of a static rocket test firing facility.

Additionally, the Department of Bigineering & Biotechnology is organizing a National Conference on Biotechnology for Sustainable Development from March 27th to 29th, 2025. This conference aims to bring together leading academicians, scientists, policymakers, and industry experts to discuss advancements in biotechnology.
