NEW DELHI: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is currently chairing a high-level meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, state ministers, and MLAs at Kapurthala House in Delhi. The meeting comes amid swirling rumours of internal dissent within the party’s Punjab unit.

The discussions are reportedly centered on evaluating AAP’s performance in the recent Delhi Assembly elections and strategizing for the 2027 Punjab Assembly polls. Senior AAP leaders, including Rajya Sabha MPs Raghav Chadha and Sandeep Pathak, are also present at the meeting.

Addressing the speculations of discord, Sangrur MLA Narinder Kaur clarified that the meeting is routine and not indicative of any internal rift. “We respect the people’s mandate in Delhi and will continue to function as a strong opposition. Such meetings are standard practice and have been held regularly in both Punjab and Delhi,” she stated.

The meeting gains significance as AAP aims to consolidate its position in Punjab, where it secured a landslide victory in the 2022 Assembly elections. With the 2027 polls in sight, the party is reportedly working on strengthening its grassroots presence and addressing any organizational challenges.
