GANDHINAGAR: In a significant move to bolster Gujarat’s position as a global business hub, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel unveiled the ‘Gujarat Global Capability Centre (GCC) Policy 2025-30’ on Tuesday. The policy aims to attract investments worth Rs 10,000 crore over the next five years, focusing on sectors like IT, finance, human resources, and innovation.

The announcement was made during a high-profile event at GIFT City, Gandhinagar, Gujarat’s flagship financial and technology hub. GCCs, which provide back-end services such as IT support, financial operations, and HR management to their parent companies, are increasingly becoming critical for multinational corporations. The new policy is designed to position Gujarat as a preferred destination for these centers, leveraging the state’s robust infrastructure, skilled workforce, and business-friendly environment.

Key Highlights of the Policy:
1. Investment Incentives: The policy offers a range of incentives, including subsidies, tax benefits, and streamlined regulatory approvals to attract GCCs.
2. Focus on Innovation: GCCs will be encouraged to drive innovation and R&D, particularly in emerging technologies like artificial intelligence, blockchain, and data analytics.
3. Employment Generation: The policy is expected to create over 50,000 high-skilled jobs, further boosting Gujarat’s economy.
4. GIFT City Advantage: The policy leverages GIFT City’s world-class infrastructure and regulatory framework to attract global players.

CM Bhupendra Patel emphasized that the policy aligns with Gujarat’s vision of becoming a global leader in technology and finance. “This policy will not only attract investments but also create a ecosystem for innovation and employment, ensuring sustainable growth for the state,” he said.

The Gujarat government has already initiated discussions with several multinational corporations to set up GCCs in the state. With its strategic location, skilled workforce, and proactive policies, Gujarat is poised to become a key player in the global GCC landscape.
