New Delhi: In anticipation of the 648th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas Ji, Delhi Police have issued a comprehensive traffic advisory to manage the expected influx of devotees attending the Dharam Sabha and Shobha Yatra at Red Fort ground and the subsequent  procession of Shobha Yatra. The public is urged to use public transport to minimize congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow.

The Dharam Sabha and Shobha Yatra is scheduled to commence at 12 PM on February 12, 2025, at the 15 August Park near Red Fort. Following the assembly, a grand Shobha Yatra procession will take place, attracting a significant number of participants. Given the scale of the event, substantial traffic disruptions are anticipated in the surrounding areas.

To facilitate the Dharam Sabha and Shobha Yatra and ensure public safety, traffic restrictions and diversions will be implemented from 11 AM onwards on several key routes:

  • SPM Marg: Anticipate delays and possible diversions. Alternative routes are recommended.

  • DGB Road: Traffic will be regulated to accommodate the procession. Plan accordingly.

  • Guru Ravidas Marg: Given its significance to the event, expect heavy traffic and potential restrictions.

  • Rani Jhansi Road: Diversions will be in place to manage the flow of vehicles.

Specific points where traffic will be diverted include:

  • Subhash Park T-Point

  • Shanti Van Chowk

Commuters are strongly advised to avoid these areas to prevent inconvenience.

Those planning to travel to key locations such as Old Delhi Railway Station, ISBT, Red Fort, Chandni Chowk, and Tis Hazari Court should plan their journeys in advance to account for potential delays. Utilizing public transport during this Dharam Sabha and Shobha Yatra is highly recommended to reduce road congestion. Additionally, parking should be confined to designated areas, and roadside parking should be avoided to maintain smooth traffic flow.

Delhi Police have emphasized the importance of vigilance during the Dharam Sabha and Shobha Yatra. In case of any unusual or unidentified objects or suspicious individuals, the public is urged to immediately inform the police control room or notify traffic personnel on duty. This proactive approach will aid in ensuring the safety and security of all participants and commuters.

In recognition of Guru Ravidas Jayanti, Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor has declared February 12 as a public holiday. Consequently, all government offices and institutions in Delhi will remain closed, allowing citizens to participate in the celebrations.

The Delhi Police’s traffic advisory aims to manage the anticipated disruptions due to the Dharam Sabha and Shobha Yatra procession. By adhering to the recommended guidelines and utilizing public transport, commuters can contribute to a smoother traffic experience during the festivities.
