British music sensation Ed Sheeran brought his highly anticipated Mathematics Tour to a thrilling close with an electrifying concert in Delhi NCR on Saturday. Known for chart-toppers like “Shape of You” and “Perfect,” Sheeran captivated thousands of fans at the Leisure Valley Ground, proving once again why he’s one of the most engaging live performers in the world.

Indian singer-actor Lisa Mishra opened the show, setting an upbeat mood with her energetic performance. The crowd, eager for Sheeran’s arrival, cheered as the anticipation built. After a short wait, Sheeran took the stage, wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with “Delhi,” and was met with a roaring applause from the excited audience.

Kicking off the night with “Castle on the Hill,” Sheeran wasted no time in connecting with the crowd, addressing them with gratitude and excitement. He reminisced about his previous tours in India and shared his desire to perform in more cities beyond Mumbai, where he had held most of his past concerts. “Next time, we’ll play everywhere except Mumbai,” he said, revealing his plans to take the tour to different corners of the country.

Sheeran’s tour, which began in Pune on January 30, included performances in Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Shillong before reaching Delhi. The singer also expressed his love for the city, mentioning that he shot videos in various locations, including the historic Old Delhi. “What a place! Thank you so much for having me here in your beautiful country,” he said.

The concert featured Sheeran’s signature live looping, where he used a loop station to layer beats, harmonies, and guitar riffs in real time, creating a rich and dynamic musical experience. For the next two hours, he played a mix of hits like “Thinking Out Loud,” “Photograph,” “You Need Me, I Don’t Need You,” and “Give Me Love,” keeping the audience hooked.

During the performance of “Happier,” Sheeran paused when he noticed a fan had fainted in the crowd. He quickly asked security to check on the person and exited the stage for a brief moment before resuming the show.

Taking a moment to reflect on his early days as a musician, Sheeran shared the story behind his breakout hit, “The A Team.” He recalled how he initially thought the song would change everything for him, only to see little immediate reaction. “After about six months, people started caring. It went from two to three to twenty to one hundred, and then it became a major hit,” he shared.

As the concert neared its end, Sheeran performed his most beloved tracks. The crowd erupted when the opening notes of “Perfect” played, and the energy only intensified when “Shape of You” began. Fans sang every lyric in unison, creating a sea of hands waving in the air. Sheeran closed the show with “Bad Habits,” leaving the crowd buzzing with excitement.

Reflecting on his time in India, Sheeran said, “The last three weeks in India have been magical. I’ve learned a lot. Thank you for welcoming me, and hopefully I will come back soon.”

Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour to India was produced and promoted by AEG Presents Asia and BookMyShow Live, bringing an unforgettable live music experience to fans across the country.
