JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has reaffirmed the Indian Army’s preparedness to effectively manage any border situation, emphasizing their decisive responses to recent cross-border incidents. This statement comes in the wake of multiple ceasefire violations and an IED attack along the Line of Control (LoC).
Indian Army’s Effective Countermeasures
In recent days, Pakistani troops have engaged in unprovoked firing along the LoC, notably in the Poonch district. The Indian Army has responded with precision, inflicting significant casualties on enemy forces. For instance, on February 13, 2025, Pakistani troops initiated unprovoked firing on a forward post in the Tarkundi area, prompting a strong retaliation by the Indian Army, resulting in heavy casualties among the enemy forces.
Ongoing Anti-Terror Operations
Concurrently, the Jammu and Kashmir administration has intensified anti-terror operations. In a recent security review meeting, Lt Governor Sinha directed police and security agencies to neutralize terrorists and dismantle their networks. This directive led to the dismissal of three government employees suspected of terrorist links, underscoring the administration’s commitment to eradicating terrorism.
Commitment to Regional Peace and Security
Lt Governor Sinha reiterated that there will be no pause in anti-terror operations, with clear instructions given to security agencies to eliminate the menace and ensure peace and tranquility in the region. He stated, “Indian Army is fully capable and giving a befitting response on the border.”
These developments highlight the Indian Army’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders and maintaining regional stability.
