Jalna Police Arrest Self-Styled Godman in Shocking Black Magic  Case

JALNA: In a chilling incident, a self-proclaimed godman was arrested for allegedly abetting a man’s suicide and demanding his five-year-old daughter for an occult (black magic) ritual. The Jalna police apprehended the accused, Ganesh Lokhande (45), on March 6 in connection with the death of Dnyaneshwar Aher (30), a resident of Walsa Wadla village in Bhokardan tehsil, according to police sources.

The Harrowing Case Unfolds

According to police reports, Dnyaneshwar Aher was found dead under suspicious circumstances on March 3. The preliminary investigation revealed that Aher had been under severe mental distress due to harassment by Lokhande. Further inquiries exposed the disturbing demand made by the godman. He allegedly pressured Aher to hand over his young daughter for an occult ritual, promising miraculous benefits in return.

Inspector Kiran Bidve, leading the investigation, stated that Aher’s suicide note played a crucial role in uncovering the truth. In the note, Aher detailed the psychological torment inflicted by Lokhande. The victim felt trapped and helpless due to the continuous pressure and threats.

Manipulation and Exploitation in the name of Occult

Investigators revealed that Lokhande exploited Aher’s vulnerable mental state. Posing as a spiritual guide, the godman manipulated the victim by promising to solve his personal and financial problems. However, his intentions took a sinister turn when he demanded the child for an occult ritual that he claimed would bring prosperity and peace.

Family members of the deceased reported that Aher had become increasingly anxious over the past few weeks.

Legal Action and Police Investigation

The police have registered a case. Authorities are now delving deeper into Lokhande’s black magic activities and occult practices. They suspect that he may have victimized others using similar tactics. “We are investigating whether more people have fallen prey to his manipulative practices,” said Inspector Bidve while speaking to local media.

Rising Concern Over Occult Practices

This case has sparked concerns over the rise in occult-related crimes in rural Maharashtra. Despite advancements in education and technology, superstitions continue to thrive in certain areas. Experts emphasize the need for stronger enforcement of anti-superstition laws and public awareness campaigns to prevent such tragedies.

Social activists point out that victims of such manipulation often hesitate to report their experiences due to fear and societal stigma. This silence allows exploiters to continue their activities unchecked. Local authorities are now urging people to come forward and report any suspicious practices.

Community Reaction and Call for Justice

The tragic death of Dnyaneshwar Aher has sent shockwaves through the community. Residents of Walsa Wadla village are demanding swift justice and stricter regulations against self-styled godmen. “Such people exploit faith for their selfish motives. We need to ensure no one else suffers like this,” said a local community leader.

Authorities Urge Vigilance

Police have urged citizens to be cautious and report any suspicious activities involving spiritual practices. They emphasized the importance of not falling prey to false promises and seeking professional help in times of emotional distress.

Meanwhile, the investigation continues as authorities aim to uncover the full extent of Lokhande’s alleged crimes. The case serves as a grim reminder of the dangers posed by unchecked superstitions and manipulative individuals.
