Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged the people of Haryana to set a new record in voter turnout as the state heads to the polls for its Assembly elections. In his appeal, shared on his X account (formerly Twitter), PM Modi encouraged all eligible voters, especially the youth casting their ballots for the first time, to participate enthusiastically in the democratic process. He emphasized the significance of voting as a “sacred festival of democracy.”
This election will determine the future leadership of Haryana, with prominent candidates in the fray including the state’s Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini from Ladwa, and the Congress’s Bhupinder Singh Hooda. Other key contestants include INLD’s Abhay Singh Chautala, JJP’s Dushyant Chautala, and former wrestler Vinesh Phogat representing Congress. Over 1,000 candidates are competing for seats in the 90-member Assembly, with intense competition across constituencies.
As Haryana voters cast their ballots, Modi’s message was clear: every vote matters in shaping the state’s future. He encouraged voters to seize the opportunity and ensure a robust turnout, which could pave the way for a transformative government in Haryana.
