Breaking News

Mumbai: As the Maharashtra Assembly Elections draw near, new financial disclosures reveal a significant rise in Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray‘s wealth. The son of former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Aaditya filed his affidavit last week, disclosing assets now totaling approximately Rs 23.5 crore—a 33% increase since his last disclosure of Rs 17.6 crore in 2019. However, his vehicle assets, including his BMW, saw depreciation over time, with the car now valued at Rs 4.21 lakh, down from Rs 6.5 lakh five years ago. Interestingly, Thackeray has also reported liabilities amounting to Rs 43 lakh, including security deposits and GST dues, which contrasts with his debt-free status in 2019.

In the highly contested Worli constituency, Aaditya is expected to face strong opposition from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS). The MNS has announced Sandeep Deshpande as a possible contender, with his “Vision Worli” campaign focusing on local issues and promising improvements in stalled SRA redevelopment projects and other public services. Deshpande criticized Thackeray, accusing him of being disconnected from the public and failing to address critical issues like SRA redevelopment delays and infrastructure degradation, affecting the lives of Worli residents.
