Site Inspection and Briefing on Rescue Operations
Dr. Mishra visited the crash site near B.J. Medical College, Meghani Nagar, where senior officials from the State Government, Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) provided a detailed briefing. The crash, which resulted in multiple casualties and injuries, has prompted a full-scale emergency response from state and central agencies.
Authorities informed Dr. Mishra about the immediate response measures, including emergency medical services, rescue operations, evacuation, and site security. He examined the progress made in debris clearance, recovery efforts, and preservation of evidence for investigation.
Visit to Civil Hospital and Interaction with Victims’ Families
At Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, Dr. Mishra personally met bereaved families, offering condolences and words of comfort. Dr. Mishra later visited the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Gandhinagar, where he reviewed the DNA analysis and identification process in progress. High-Level Review Meeting and International Collaboration
At Circuit House, Ahmedabad, Dr. Mishra chaired a high-level meeting with key stakeholders from the Central and State Governments, the AAIB, and the Airports Authority of India. The ongoing investigation into the crash, which includes technical evaluation, procedural checks, and regulatory compliance, was discussed in detail.
Officials confirmed that the Flight Data Recorder (FDR) and Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR) have both been recovered and secured, and will play a crucial role in identifying the cause of the crash. In accordance with international aviation protocol—since the aircraft was U.S.-manufactured—the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is conducting a parallel investigation in cooperation with Indian agencies.
