In his meeting with the Prime Minister of Italy, PM Modi discussed enhancing bilateral trade and investment, along with cooperation in fashion, food processing, and manufacturing. The interaction with the President of France reaffirmed the shared vision for global peace, counter-terrorism, and defense partnerships. The leaders also took stock of progress on civil nuclear cooperation and maritime security.
A significant meeting with the UK Prime Minister focused on finalizing the India-UK Free Trade Agreement, with an aim to double bilateral trade by 2030. Both leaders emphasized the importance of educational exchanges and innovation-based collaboration.
Reaffirming Strategic Priorities with South Africa
Besides the earlier trilateral meeting, the Prime Minister also held a bilateral engagement with the President of South Africa. The leaders discussed cooperation in pharmaceuticals, green hydrogen, and multilateral forums such as BRICS and the United Nations. They reiterated the need for reforms in global governance institutions to better reflect contemporary realities.
