🌱 Grassroots Participation through PRIs and RLBs
Following the guidance issued by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in his official letter to Gram Pradhans, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and Rural Local Bodies (RLBs) across the country actively contributed to the nationwide celebration. Thousands of gram sabhas, village panchayats, and community centers organized yoga demonstrations, awareness drives, and wellness discussions.
This bottom-up approach is in sync with the government’s commitment to making yoga a grassroots health movement, extending its benefits beyond urban centers into rural India, where community health and awareness are critical to national development.
🌍 Yoga for One Earth, One Health: A Shared Responsibility
This year’s theme—“Yoga for One Earth, One Health”—beautifully encapsulates India’s G20 vision of interconnected wellness. It underlines that individual health and planetary sustainability are deeply linked, and that ancient Indian practices like yoga offer a holistic solution to modern-day challenges ranging from stress and lifestyle diseases to ecological imbalance.
The Ministry of Panchayati Raj, through its decentralised network, played a pivotal role in amplifying this message and ensuring that yoga reached even the remotest corners of the country.
✅ Conclusion
