New Delhi: The National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (NICDC) has entered a strategic partnership with the Government of Haryana to develop an Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) at Hisar, marking a significant milestone under the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor (AKIC) initiative. This collaboration is aimed at accelerating industrial growth, infrastructure development, and job creation in Haryana, thereby reinforcing India’s Make in India and self-reliance ambitions.

Strategic Importance and Economic Impact of IMC Hisar

The Integrated Manufacturing Cluster at Hisar, spread over 2,988 acres, is strategically located near the newly inaugurated Maharaja Agrasen International Airport and sits between the Eastern and Western Dedicated Freight Corridors (EDFC and WDFC). Its proximity to major highways (NH-52, NH-09), railways, and logistics hubs enhances connectivity, making it an attractive destination for investors.

With an expected investment worth ₹32,417 crore and a project cost of ₹4,680 crore, IMC Hisar is projected to generate approximately 1.25 lakh jobs. The cluster is envisioned to foster a business-friendly environment, boost local manufacturing capacity, and attract both domestic and international investors, driving economic growth in Haryana and strengthening its position as a leading industrial hub.

Government Collaboration and Agreement Signing

The project advanced through the signing of the State Support Agreement (SSA) and Shareholder Agreement (SHA) among NICDC, the Government of Haryana, and Haryana Airports Development Corporation (HADC). The agreement signing was led by:

  • Shri Rajat Kumar Saini, CEO & Managing Director, NICDC

  • Smt. Amneet P. Kumar, Commissioner and Secretary to Government of Haryana, Civil Aviation Department

  • Shri Narhari Singh Banger, Managing Director, HADC

This collaboration forms part of NICDC’s portfolio of 20 industrial projects being developed across India in partnership with state governments.

Role in the Amritsar-Kolkata Industrial Corridor and National Vision

IMC Hisar stands as a flagship project within the AKIC, a key industrial corridor aimed at transforming North and East India into a globally competitive manufacturing and logistics hub. By developing world-class infrastructure and support ecosystems, the initiative will foster industrial diversification, investment inflow, and employment opportunities, supporting the government’s vision of India as a dominant global manufacturing center.

Conclusion

The development of the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster at Hisar represents a critical leap towards industrial expansion and job creation in Haryana, backed by central and state government collaboration through NICDC. With world-class infrastructure, strategic connectivity, and significant investment potential, IMC Hisar is set to be a transformative force driving economic growth, innovation, and sustainability in the region and beyond.
