New Delhi: A vibrant ‘Karmchari Sankalp Sammelan’ (Employee Resolution Conference) was held in New Delhi on August 21, 2025, bringing together officers and officials from the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare and the Ministry of Rural Development. The event was graced by Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan along with esteemed dignitaries including Union Minister of State Shri Bhagirath Choudhary, Agriculture Secretary Shri Devesh Chaturvedi, Rural Development Secretary Shri Shailesh Kumar Singh, and ICAR Director General Dr. M.L. Jat.
Nation Building Through Positive Contribution and Team Spirit
Addressing the gathering, Shri Chouhan urged employees to use every day and moment positively, emphasizing their vital role in nation building. He proposed renaming the event to ‘Karmayogi Sankalp Sammelan’ from next year to highlight the spirit of dedicated service.
The Minister stressed that every employee deserves respect and dignity, with collective effort and team spirit laying the foundation for transformational growth in the nation. He emphasized the crucial contributions of the Ministries of Agriculture and Rural Development in the country’s progress.
Landmark Agricultural Initiatives and Ongoing Challenges
Referring to the historic ‘Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan’ for the Kharif season, Shri Chouhan highlighted its unprecedented scale involving 2,170 scientific teams engaging with farmers across villages. This campaign generated over 500 research themes, signaling a major milestone in agricultural development.
While India boasts abundant food stocks, the Minister identified challenges in increasing production of pulses, oilseeds, and cotton, alongside promoting natural farming. He expressed optimism about the cooperation between state governments and the Centre to chart a comprehensive agricultural roadmap.
Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana and Rural Development Progress
Shri Chouhan celebrated near achievement of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s target of creating 3 crore Lakhpati Didis under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana – National Rural Livelihood Mission (DAY-NRLM). Nearly 2.8 crore women have attained financial independence, with many evolving into ‘Millionaire Didis’, marking tremendous empowerment.
He also noted rapid rural housing development, with homes constructed in record 114 days, along with transformative impacts on rural infrastructure and livelihoods. Citing the Prime Minister’s emphasis on government visibility in citizens’ lives, Shri Chouhan called for honest dedication to public service and reminded officials of their privileged role in government.
Actions Against Uncertified and Spurious Agricultural Inputs
The Minister disclosed stringent measures against uncertified bio-stimulants: out of nearly 30,000 products, only 600 remain certified post rigorous ICAR verification. Strong action is also underway against spurious fertilizers, seeds, and pesticides impacting farmers.
Emphasizing ‘Nation First’ and Indigenous Product Usage
Reiterating Prime Minister’s motto of ‘Nation First’ and the global philosophy of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ (the world is one family), Shri Chouhan emphasized safeguarding farmers, livestock rearers, and fishers through government policies.
He encouraged employees to maximize usage of ‘Swadeshi’ (indigenous products) to generate employment and strengthen the economy.
Work-Life Balance and a New Story of Transformation
Urging officials to maintain a healthy balance between professional and personal lives, Shri Chouhan said, “Make time for yourself, your children, and your family.” He elaborated on three approaches to work life: working unhappily, working with mere satisfaction, and working with joy and dedication—the latter being the path to meaningful transformation and success.
