Chief of Defence Staff Releases Joint Doctrines at RAN SAMWAD – India’s Proud Inaugural Tri-Service Seminar: AUgust 2025

Madhya Pradesh: On August 27, 2025, Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan inaugurated two critical doctrine publications during the RAN SAMWAD Tri-service seminar held at the Army War College, Dr Ambedkar Nagar, Madhya Pradesh. These include:

  • Joint Doctrine for Special Forces Operations

  • Joint Doctrine for Airborne and Heliborne Operations

Distinguished service chiefs—Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi (Navy), Air Chief Marshal AP Singh (Air Force), and Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh (Army)—also graced the event.


Significance of the Doctrines

Formulated under the Doctrine Directorate of the Integrated Defence Staff, these joint doctrines establish:

  • Guiding principles and operational concepts

  • Interoperability frameworks for multi-service missions

  • Standardized procedures for seamless joint conduct of Special Forces and Airborne/Heliborne operations

These documents are set to become key references for planners and commanders to ensure cohesive and efficient joint missions enhancing defence preparedness.




Highlights from Chief of Defence Staff’s Address
