New Delhi: Indian Naval Ship (INS) Trikand, a stealth frigate of the Indian Navy, called at Salamis Bay, Greece, on September 13, 2025, as part of its ongoing deployment in the Mediterranean Sea. The port call marks a significant milestone as Trikand prepares to participate in the first-ever bilateral maritime exercise between India and Greece.
Purpose and Exercise Highlights
The maiden bilateral maritime exercise is designed to enhance interoperability, refine tactical skills, and deepen operational synergy between the two navies. The harbor phase includes interaction with senior Greek military officials, planning and discussions for coordinated sea operations, cross-deck visits between naval vessels, and cultural exchanges fostered to strengthen people-to-people ties.
