Indian Naval Ship Kadmatt Arrives in Suva, Fiji for Goodwill Visit and Maritime Cooperation: September 2025

New Delhi: On 15 September 2025, Indian Naval Ship (INS) Kadmatt, an indigenously designed and built Anti-Submarine Warfare Corvette, arrived in Suva, Fiji, as part of a goodwill visit during its three-month deployment. The visit underscores the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and people-to-people ties between India and Fiji, as well as India’s commitment to strengthening maritime cooperation and bilateral relations in the Indo-Pacific region.

Diplomacy, Maritime Security, and Professional Exchanges

As part of its port call, INS Kadmatt is hosting senior officials from the Republic of Fiji Navy to foster professional exchanges and explore avenues of mutual interest, including joint training sessions in bridge resource management, search and rescue, firefighting, diving operations, and communication procedures. Both sides also discussed capacity development and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) collaborations.
