NCL Strong Observation of “Swachhata Hi Seva” Campaign with Vigour: 2025

Breaking News

New Delhi: Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL), a flagship subsidiary of Coal India based in Singrauli, is enthusiastically conducting the “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign from September 17 to October 2, 2025, under the guidance of the Ministry of Coal. The ongoing campaign is notable for its wide-ranging activities designed to promote hygiene, sustainability, and community participation in public cleanliness efforts.

Diverse Activities Championing Cleanliness and Sustainability

NCL has rolled out multiple initiatives, including awareness drives, cleanliness of public and office spaces, beautification of eco-tourism spots, and Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivir for the welfare and health-check of sanitation workers. Special creative competitions—such as rangoli, painting, essay, and slogan writing—engaged local communities and reinforced the importance of cleanliness. Notably, a painting competition in the Jayant Area allowed school students to creatively communicate hygiene messages, while rallies spread awareness among residents.

Sapling Distribution and Community Outreach

As part of the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” Abhiyaan, 1,000 saplings were distributed in the Jayant Area to encourage environmental sustainability. NCL’s Dudhichua Area hosted a Swachhata Pledge event at DAV School, with more than 1,500 students committing to uphold cleanliness. Swachhata Selfie stands were installed across NCL sites to encourage sharing and promotion of cleanliness practices within the community.

Inclusive Participation Across Areas

The campaign spans NCL’s Amlohri, Block-B, and Dudhichua Areas, integrating students and local residents through creative competitions linked to the ‘Swachhotsav’ theme and celebrations of clean and green festivals. The Jhingurda and Block-B Areas conducted health initiatives for sanitation workers, emphasizing wellness alongside cleanliness. Additionally, the voluntary shramdaan drive “Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saath” saw collective action for local environmental improvement.

Conclusion: Swachhata Hi Seva

NCL’s dynamic observance of “Swachhata Hi Seva” underlines the company’s commitment to cleanliness and sustainability, while fostering a sense of civic pride and responsible citizenship. The campaign’s collaborative model, blending environmental stewardship with active community involvement, is helping shape a cleaner, greener, and more aware society in line with the goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
