Department of Food and Public Distribution Observes Nationwide “Ek Din Ek Ghanta Ek Saath” Shramdaan Drive under Swachhata Hi Seva 2025

New Delhi: The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD), Government of India, along with its various Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and subordinate offices, enthusiastically participated in the nationwide cleanliness drive “Ek Din Ek Ghanta Ek Saath” on September 25, 2025, at 8 a.m. across the country as part of the Swachhata Hi Seva 2025 campaign.

Cleanliness Drive at Key Locations

The Department organized a cleanliness drive at the outer premises of Hanuman Mandir, Baba Kharak Singh Marg, New Delhi, with the active participation of officers and officials. Their collective Shramdaan aimed at promoting cleanliness, improved sanitation, and raising awareness about hygiene and proper waste disposal among the public. The one-hour campaign sought to foster a clean, healthy, and garbage-free India.



PSU Involvement and Local Area Engagement

Several PSUs and subordinate offices under the Department undertook cleanliness activities nationwide. The Indian Grain Management and Research Institute (IGMRI), Hapur, conducted a drive at the Hapur Bus Depot, while the IGMRI Ludhiana team performed similar efforts at ISBT, Ludhiana.

The Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC) team actively joined the national cleanliness drive through Shramdaan at RWA Park, Mayur Vihar. Demonstrating high energy and team spirit, the team devoted an hour to cleaning and beautifying the public space, aligning with the vision of a cleaner, healthier, and more responsible India.

Additionally, the Food Corporation of India (FCI) arranged special cleanliness activities across its headquarters and various regional and district offices. Led by senior officials, FCI staff enthusiastically engaged in supporting the Swachhata Hi Seva movement to contribute collectively toward a cleaner India.
