New Delhi: Chhattisgarh-based South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, celebrated the “Safai Mitra Samman Samaroh” at its Headquarters in Bilaspur during the Swachhata Hi Sewa “Swacchotsav” 2025 campaign. In recognition of the tireless efforts of its sanitation workforce, South Eastern Coalfields Limited felicitated 100 Safai Mitras for their vital contributions to maintaining clean and hygienic environments in SECL offices and residential colonies.

South Eastern Coalfields Limited CMD Shri Harish Duhan lauded Safai Mitras as the true foot soldiers of the cleanliness drive, emphasizing their critical role in sustaining workplace and community hygiene. Shri Biranchi Das, Director (HR), personally honored the workers, who expressed their gratitude for this formal recognition of their hard work.
Ayurvedic Neurotherapy and Panchkarma Camps
Coinciding with the felicitation ceremony, SECL organized free Ayurvedic Neurotherapy and Panchkarma camps on 26th and 27th September across SECL colonies. These camps benefited Safai Mitras and SECL employees alike, offering holistic treatments including neurotherapy, fire needle therapy, blood cupping, leech therapy, and other Ayurvedic modalities—entirely free of cost.
Extensive Cleanliness Initiatives
SECL’s Swachhata Hi Sewa campaign included a spectrum of impactful activities:

Large-scale clean-up drive at Arpa river Chhath Ghat, Bilaspur, with 100 volunteers participating for the fifth year.

Intensified cleanliness campaigns at Cleaning Target Unit (CTU) sites throughout operational districts in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.
Creative Community Engagement
A “Waste to Art” competition was held for school children to promote creative awareness about recycling and the value of reuse, fostering environmental consciousness across generations.
Road to Special Campaign 5.0
Swachhata Hi Sewa 2025 at SECL serves as a preparatory phase for the upcoming Special Campaign 5.0, culminating with Swachh Bharat Diwas celebrations on October 2nd—Gandhi Jayanti.
