AYURFARM 2025 Certificate Course on Medicinal Herb Cultivation Successfully Concludes at AIIA, New Delhi

New Delhi: The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi, concluded its five-day AYURFARM 2025 certificate course on the cultivation and propagation of Ayurveda herbs. Organized by AIIA’s Department of Dravyaguna from September 22 to 26, the program was central to the Ayurveda Day 2025 celebrations and aimed at strengthening practical skills in medicinal plant cultivation for postgraduate and PhD scholars across India.

Programme Highlights

The inaugural session featured Dr. Sameer Sinha, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Uttarakhand, who underscored conservation and sustainability of medicinal plant resources. Dr. Chandra Shekhar Sanwal, Guest of Honour and former Deputy CEO, National Medicinal Plant Board, Ministry of Ayush, emphasized policy frameworks and supply chain strategies for quality medicinal plants.

Renowned Ayurvedic scholar Dr. Mayaram Uniyal led the valedictory session, advocating for the fusion of classical Ayurvedic wisdom and modern agronomic practices.



Expert-Led Practical Training

Twenty-seven participants benefitted from hands-on instruction and scientific demonstration by six expert trainers:

  • Dr. Janhavi Mishra Rawat instructed on plant tissue culture.

  • Dr. K. Hima Bindhu covered hydroponics and soilless cultivation.

  • Dr. D. Kalaivanan demonstrated cocoponics and sustainable cultivation methods.

  • Dr. Kunal A. Kale shared advanced propagation and conservation techniques.

  • Dr. Saroj Kumar V. taught Vrikshayurveda and modern propagation.

  • Smt. S. Premlata trained in organic farming and soil health.

Sessions spanned plant propagation methods, organic manures, vermicompost preparation, grafting, layering, and soil analysis, with engagement in interactive session on Good Cultivation Practices (GCP).

Outcomes and National Impact

AYURFARM 2025 provided intensive exposure to modern and traditional farming methods, ensuring mastery of propagation techniques relevant for evidence-based Ayurveda. The program supports sustainable supply of authentic, high-quality medicinal plants—bolstering education, research, and clinical practice nationwide.
