While several paper-made effigies across Rajasthan collapsed under heavy downpour, this one remained completely unharmed.

The Raavan will be ignited using remote-controlled technology, with sensors embedded at 25 different points. Each sensor will trigger a series of vibrant firecrackers, lighting up the sky in a coordinated display. The sheer scale of the effigy is striking the face alone stands 25 feet tall and weighs nearly three quintals, the shoes are 40 feet long, the crown reaches 60 feet, and the sword stretches 50 feet. Around 400 meters of velvet fabric have been used to design its elaborate attire.

The team chose fiberglass instead of traditional materials to make the structure resistant to rain and wind. “We created this 200 Foot Raavan with changing weather in mind. The unseasonal rain didn’t affect it in fact, it washed and cleaned it,” said Tejinder Singh, the lead builder of the project.
