IICA hosts National Conference & Exhibition on Leveraging CSR Excellence for Tribal Development in New Delhi: 2025

Breaking News

The Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), under the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, organized the National Conference & Exhibition on Leveraging CSR Excellence for Tribal Development, inaugurating a two-day event in New Delhi on 6th October 2025. This initiative, marking the 2nd Annual CSR Day and commemorating Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, aims to promote innovation, inclusivity, and sustainable partnerships in corporate social responsibility (CSR) for tribal communities across India.

Conference Highlights and Expert Participation

The event was inaugurated by Union Ministers, senior government officials, and dignitaries, including leaders from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (MDoNER), TRIFED, and United Nations. The exhibition featured best CSR practices, with tribal artisans from across India showcasing their products, supported by TRIFED. Panel discussions spanned digital inclusion, tribal entrepreneurship, health, nutrition, and the use of AI in fostering social equity and improving rural livelihoods.

Key Themes and Strategic Focus

Speakers highlighted the evolution of India’s CSR landscape: Chief Executives noted a substantial rise in CSR spending, with Indian companies now exceeding the mandated 2% threshold. The focus has shifted from just financial outlay to impact-driven initiatives—prioritizing inclusion, measurable outcomes, and alignment with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Viksit Bharat @ 2047 vision. Secretary MDoNER, Shri Chanchal Kumar, emphasized that CSR must reach all sections of society, with a focus on education and skills to reduce inequality. The event drew attention to the transformative potential of technology and cross-sector partnerships.

Panel Sessions and Collaborative Dialogue

The conference included three high-level panel discussions: Leadership Dialogue on Leveraging CSR for Tribal Development, CSR for Sustainable Livelihoods & Tribal Entrepreneurship, and CSR for Health & Nutrition in Tribal Areas. Corporate and social leaders addressed real-world challenges presented by tribal communities in a live problem-solving lab, highlighting best practices from across India and inspiring scale-up of proven models.

Conclusion: IICA

With participation from 300+ delegates, the event reaffirmed a collective commitment to sustainable, inclusive development of India’s tribal regions through creative, impact-oriented CSR. The exhibition and high-impact sessions provided a platform for knowledge sharing, capacity building, and forging collaborative roadmaps for the future of tribal welfare through CSR.
