On the sidelines of India Mobile Congress 2025, the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Government of India, launched the ‘Digital Communication Theme’ for the upcoming Emerging Science Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC) 2025. This landmark event also marked the inauguration of the Bharat 6G Alliance (B6GA), positioning India at the forefront of next-generation telecom innovation.
Launch Event Highlights
Presided over by Prof. Ajay Sood, Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, and Dr. Neeraj Mittal, Chairman of the Digital Communications Commission and Secretary (Telecommunications), the event featured the unveiling of a theme video showcasing India’s remarkable digital transformation over the last decade. It outlined an ambitious vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat in the 6G era, emphasizing policy, innovation, and inclusivity as key pillars.

Dr. Neeraj Mittal stressed the importance of collaboration and innovation in shaping India’s digital future, urging the country to imagine boldly, innovate purposefully, and inspire the next generation to build a “Viksit Bharat.” Prof. Ajay Sood highlighted telecommunications as the backbone of India’s digital economy, applauding sustained indigenous innovation and strategic policy initiatives including the Technology Development Fund and the upcoming Research, Development and Innovation (RDI) Scheme, which will propel India’s global technology leadership.
Upcoming Thematic Session at ESTIC 2025
A keynote by Prof. Kiran Kumar Kuchi (IIT Hyderabad), with expert panels including leading industry figures from Tejas Networks, Lekha Wireless, VVDN Technologies, C-DOT, BSNL, ITC Limited, and academia representatives from IIT Madras and IISc Bangalore, will explore digital connectivity’s future and India’s leadership in emerging technologies during a session scheduled for November 5, 2025.
