NEW DELHI: The Adani Group has firmly denied allegations of bribery related to securing favorable terms for solar power contracts, dismissing them as baseless. These allegations are part of a US Department of Justice and Securities and Exchange Commission investigation. The probe focuses on whether entities linked to Adani or other companies paid Indian officials for preferential treatment on energy projects.
In a statement, the Adani Group reiterated its commitment to high standards of governance and compliance with anti-corruption laws in India and internationally. It clarified that the ongoing investigation involves a third party and not Adani’s directors.
The probe comes amid broader scrutiny of the conglomerate, following earlier accusations by Hindenburg Research about financial misconduct. Despite these challenges, Adani’s global business operations remain unaffected, as recent collaborations with US institutions demonstrate.
