Karnataka: Karnataka Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara has hinted at the possibility of changes in the leadership of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC). Speaking recently, he acknowledged that political dynamics could lead to shifts at any time. While discussing the matter, he reassured that the Congress government, under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, is stable and resilient against alleged destabilization attempts.
Parameshwara’s remarks came amid allegations that the BJP had approached Congress MLAs with offers of Rs. 50 crore each to topple the state government. He dismissed these claims as futile, asserting that financial lures cannot threaten the Congress-led administration. He also pointed out Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s strong leadership and fiscal policies that continue to strengthen Karnataka’s governance.
The Home Minister emphasized the need for completing key party projects, including the Rs. 15-crore Congress Bhavan in Mysuru. He urged leaders to expedite the construction under the Congress regime, noting the unpredictable nature of political developments. Additionally, Parameshwara announced that nominations to boards and corporations, which have been delayed, would be finalized soon, ensuring representation of women and grassroots workers.
Parameshwara also warned against party members making divisive statements, following controversies around remarks by some Congress leaders. He urged members to act responsibly to maintain unity within the party during a politically sensitive period.
While addressing Congress workers, Parameshwara reiterated the government’s commitment to its guarantees and announced plans to present the Kantharaj Commission report on caste-based socio-economic surveys. He stressed that such measures are crucial for inclusive policymaking and fostering public trust in the Congress-led government.
