A low-intensity explosion disrupted Delhi’s Prashant Vihar area near a PVR cinema on November 28, with initial investigations uncovering a mysterious white powder at the scene. The blast occurred in a scooter parked near a sweet shop. While no casualties were reported, the driver of a nearby three-wheeler sustained minor injuries.

Delhi Fire Services dispatched four tenders after receiving an emergency call at 11:48 a.m. The area was promptly cordoned off by police, with a bomb disposal squad and dog units deployed. Additional Commissioner Rajeev Ranjan confirmed, “Our teams are meticulously investigating the cause of the explosion and its possible connections to past incidents.”

The incident echoes a similar October blast near the CRPF school boundary wall in the same locality. Police sources noted potential links but clarified, “This appears to be of lower intensity, and connections are yet to be established.”

Security has been heightened across the region as investigators, including the National Investigation Agency, examine whether the blast was a deliberate act or an accidental mishap. Residents have expressed concerns over public safety, with local activist Priya Sharma calling for stricter surveillance measures to prevent such occurrences.

Authorities have assured the public that all angles are being explored, including the composition and origins of the recovered white substance. Further updates are awaited.
