Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, addressed the Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit in Gwalior on December 25, 2025, as the chief guest. The summit marked a significant step toward region-wise, balanced economic development in Madhya Pradesh. The event was attended by Mohan Yadav, Union Minister for Communications Jyotiraditya Scindia, and several senior dignitaries.
Tribute to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on His Birth Anniversary
At the outset, Shri Amit Shah paid homage to Atal Bihari Vajpayee on his birth anniversary, remembering him as a great orator, sensitive poet, and visionary leader who laid the foundation of modern India’s infrastructure. He said Atal ji devoted his life to awakening the nation’s self-belief and advancing India’s journey from Swaraj to Susashan.
Recalling Atal ji’s resolute leadership during the Kargil War, Shri Shah said driving out every infiltrator from Indian soil was a testament to his unwavering determination. He also highlighted Atal ji’s historic Hindi speech at the United Nations, the creation of the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, and the launch of the Golden Quadrilateral, which transformed India’s infrastructure landscape.
Regional Investment Summits for Balanced State Development
Shri Amit Shah noted that the tradition of structured industrial summits began in Gujarat when Narendra Modi was Chief Minister, through the globally acclaimed Vibrant Gujarat model. He said this scientific and planned approach to industrial development has now been replicated nationwide.
In the same spirit, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has initiated regional investment summits to ensure balanced development across all regions of the state. Shri Shah said such summits are crucial for unlocking the hidden potential of every region and ensuring inclusive growth. He added that investments of ₹2 lakh crore in a single region may appear modest at first glance but are transformational at the regional level.
PM MITRA Park Revives Cotton Economy
Highlighting the impact of the PM MITRA Park, Shri Shah said cotton—once a declining crop in the Malwa and Chambal regions due to poor price realisation—has again become profitable for farmers. He explained that the PM MITRA Park is built on the 5F vision:
Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign, ensuring fair prices to farmers and seamless linkage up to exports.
He noted that the largest PM MITRA Park is being developed in Madhya Pradesh, which will significantly benefit farmers and generate employment.
Madhya Pradesh’s Transformation from BIMARU to Growth Engine
Shri Amit Shah stated that opposition-led governments once reduced Madhya Pradesh to a BIMARU state. Former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan removed that tag, and now Dr. Mohan Yadav is taking the state forward with renewed energy.
He cited key achievements:
-
Expansion of highways and rural roads
-
Increased irrigation coverage by 17%
-
Winning the Krishi Karman Award seven consecutive times, surpassing Punjab and Haryana
-
Development of a Multi-Modal Logistics Park in Indore, leveraging the state’s strategic geography
Shri Shah emphasised that Madhya Pradesh’s central location enables low-cost logistics, provided industries are developed symmetrically across all regions.
MSMEs, Startups and Women-Led Growth
The Home Minister highlighted Madhya Pradesh’s strong performance in MSMEs and startups:
-
4.57 lakh new MSME units established in just one year
-
Nearly 50% of startups run by women, showcasing women-led entrepreneurship
-
Growth across sectors including agriculture, food processing, textiles, pharmaceuticals, IT, tourism, renewable energy, and logistics
He said Madhya Pradesh is fast emerging as a national hub for MSMEs and innovation.
India’s Leap in Technology, Infrastructure and Manufacturing
Shri Amit Shah highlighted India’s rapid progress under PM Modi’s leadership:
-
Entry into the semiconductor sector, with plans for self-reliance and exports
-
India becoming the world’s second-largest mobile phone producer
-
Defence manufacturing and exports witnessing record growth
-
India ranking 63rd in Ease of Doing Business, up from 142nd in 2014
He noted that nearly 50% of global digital transactions now take place in India, with UPI processing record volumes. Internet users have grown from 7 crore to over 101 crore, and 4G/5G connectivity is rapidly expanding.
Infrastructure as the Backbone of Development
Shri Shah underlined India’s infrastructure transformation:
-
Highways expanded from 90,000 km to over 1.5 lakh km
-
Airports increased from 74 to 163
-
Metro services expanded from 5 to 23 cities
-
Vande Bharat trains, Amrit Bharat stations, and near-total railway electrification
He said Madhya Pradesh is benefiting directly from this infrastructure push, including manufacturing of Vande Bharat train components.
Message to Youth and Investors: Abhyudaya
Addressing youth and investors, Shri Amit Shah said Madhya Pradesh’s fertile land and strategic geography ensure that “if you sow rupees here, you will reap crores.” He stressed that region-specific, sustainable industries are the key to long-term prosperity for both people and businesses.
Conclusion
The Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit reaffirmed the Centre and State Government’s shared vision of balanced, region-wise development, driven by infrastructure, industry, MSMEs, and innovation. With regional investment summits, PM MITRA Parks, and strong policy support, Madhya Pradesh is poised to emerge as a major engine of India’s growth story.
