In a shocking revelation, 20-year-old Arjun Tanwar, arrested for the brutal murders of his parents and sister at their south Delhi residence, had researched methods of committing murder online before carrying out the crime, police sources confirmed.

Tanwar, who killed his father Rajesh Kumar (51), mother Komal (46), and sister Kavita (23) at their home in Deoli village on Wednesday, allegedly had a strained relationship with his family. He reportedly felt upset because his parents preferred his sister over him.

During the investigation, the Delhi Police recovered blood-stained clothes, an army knife, and Tanwar’s electronic devices, including his mobile phone and laptop. These items will help investigators determine whether Tanwar had been influenced by crime-related content, such as web series, to plan the murders. Additionally, police are considering conducting a psychoanalysis test to assess Tanwar’s mental state at the time of the killings.

Sources revealed that Tanwar confessed to the police that he killed his sister first by slitting her throat while she was asleep. He then proceeded to kill his father by stabbing him in the neck and slit his mother’s throat while she was in the washroom. Afterward, he disposed of his bloodied clothes and the knife at Sanjay Van before attempting to clean up the crime scene at home.

Tanwar, a political science student at Delhi University and a trained boxer, had previously represented Delhi in a state boxing event, winning a silver medal. He initially tried to mislead the police by providing a false alibi, claiming he was at the gym during the murders.

The police have placed Tanwar under a three-day police custody for further questioning, as they continue to investigate the case. This incident follows a series of high-profile cases where authorities conducted psychoanalysis tests on accused individuals, including those involved in the murder of Swiss national Nina Berger and the gruesome case of Shraddha Walker’s murder.
