Veer Gatha 5.0 in New Delhi: Raksha Mantri and MoS Education Felicitate Super-100 Winners

The Raksha Rajya Mantri, Shri Sanjay Seth, and the Minister of State for Education and Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (I/C), Shri Jayant Chaudhary, felicitated the Super-100 winners of Veer Gatha 5.0 at a special ceremony held in New Delhi on 24 January 2026. The event celebrated the spirit of patriotism, creativity and respect for India’s bravehearts, while marking a significant milestone with Veer Gatha’s international debut.


Veer Gatha Goes Global with Record Participation

For the first time, 28,005 international students studying in CBSE schools abroad participated in Veer Gatha 5.0. The fifth edition witnessed an unprecedented response with participation from:

  • Over 1.92 crore students

  • More than two lakh schools

  • Students from India and overseas locations such as UAE, Qatar and Malaysia

Participants paid tribute to the nation’s heroes through activities including:

  • Drawing and painting

  • Essay writing

  • Short video creation

Among the 100 Super-100 winners, 64 are girl students, reflecting strong representation and excellence across regions.




Super-100 Winners Honoured with Awards and Republic Day Invitation

Each of the Super-100 winners received:

  • A cash prize of ₹10,000

  • A medal

  • A certificate of excellence

In recognition of their achievement, these students have also been invited as special guests to witness the Republic Day Parade on 26 January 2026 at Kartavya Path, making the honour even more memorable.


“You Are the Brand Ambassadors of Viksit Bharat 2047”: Shri Sanjay Seth

Addressing the awardees, Raksha Rajya Mantri Shri Sanjay Seth congratulated the students and emphasized that initiatives like Veer Gatha ensure that future generations continue to remember and honour the sacrifices of India’s freedom fighters and brave warriors.

He urged students to draw inspiration from iconic national figures such as:

  • Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel

  • Birsa Munda

  • The Sahibzade

  • Swami Vivekananda

Calling the winners the “brand ambassadors of Viksit Bharat 2047”, he praised their intelligence, enthusiasm and deep sense of patriotism, noting that the initiative meaningfully connects education with national values.


Veer Gatha Nurtures Creativity and National Consciousness: Shri Jayant Chaudhary

Speaking at the ceremony, MoS for Education Shri Jayant Chaudhary highlighted that Veer Gatha plays a vital role in:

  • Educating students about the valour and sacrifices of gallantry award winners

  • Nurturing creativity among young minds

  • Strengthening values of service, truth and responsibility

He appreciated the enthusiasm of students who expressed their tributes through artistic and literary formats. Urging students to become agents of change, he said their role is critical in India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047, and told the awardees:

“You are an inspiration to 140 crore Indians.”


Gallantry Awardee Shares Inspirational Experiences

During the event, Shaurya and Veer Chakra awardee Group Captain Manish Arora shared powerful experiences from Operation Sindoor. He encouraged students to imbibe values of:

  • Discipline

  • Hard work

  • A strong sense of purpose

  • Commitment to the spirit of ‘Nation First’


Senior Leadership in Defence and Education Attend Ceremony

The prestigious event was attended by several senior dignitaries, including:

  • Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan

  • Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi

  • Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal A.P. Singh

  • Shri Sanjay Kumar, Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy

  • Ms Sukirti Lekhi, Secretary (Ex-Servicemen Welfare)

  • Dr Samir V. Kamat, Secretary, Department of Defence R&D and Chairman, DRDO
