OpenAI, led by Sam Altman, has launched Sora Turbo, an upgraded version of its text-to-video AI model, which was initially previewed in February. The new model promises faster performance and more user-friendly features, allowing for the creation of high-quality videos directly from text, images, or videos.
Sora Turbo enables users to generate videos with a maximum resolution of 1080p and a duration of up to 20 seconds. It introduces several advanced editing options such as the Remix feature, which allows users to modify or re-imagine elements in their videos, and the Re-cut option, which isolates the best frames and extends them to complete a scene.
Additionally, the Storyboard feature offers a personal timeline to organize and edit video sequences, while the Loop option creates seamless repeating clips. The Blend feature combines two videos into a single, cohesive clip, and the Presets tool enables users to create and share custom styles.
Sora Turbo also offers dynamic Featured and Recent feeds that showcase the latest user creations from the growing Sora community.
To access Sora Turbo, users need a ChatGPT Plus or Pro subscription. The Plus plan is priced at $20 per month (approx. Rs.1,700), while the Pro plan costs $200 per month (approx. Rs.17,000) and provides additional features such as 10x more usage, higher resolutions, and longer video durations. A tailored pricing model for different user types will be available next year.
However, Sora Turbo is currently unavailable in the European Union, United Kingdom, and Switzerland.
